Honda Civic Sedan, Coupe get Sport trim, tech upgrades for 2019
The Honda Sensing suite of safety and assistance systems now comes standard across all trim levels.
Honda's Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe are due to receive a few design tweaks and package upgrades for the 2019 model year.
Slotting between the LX and EX, the new Sport edition features fog lights with gloss black trim and 18-inch wheels with the same all-season tires that come with the Civic Si.
The Civic Sport rear end adds a black decklid spoiler and a sport muffler capped by a chrome center-mounted exhaust finisher. On the inside, designers have added red gauges, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, paddle shifters and unique seat materials, among other enhancements.
All trim levels now ship with Honda Sensing as standard equipment. The suite includes automatic high beams, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition.
The duo has also received a restyled lower bumper for a wider look, with a gloss black finish on Honda's signature 'wing' grille. On Touring trims, the LED headlights now project a wider and longer beam.
Other changes include an updated Display Audio system on certain configurations, redesigned steering wheel controls, a new center console cupholder and additional sound insulation for the trunk, floor, front fenders and rear fenders.
The refreshed 2019 Civic Sedan and Coupe will begin arriving at showrooms on October 10.
