Kia continues Apple CarPlay, Android Auto rollout

Software updates are currently available for six nameplates, some dating back to the 2014 model year.

Kia has continued rolling out Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across its lineup.

The company now offers software updates for vehicles equipped with its UVO3 or AVN 4.0 infotainment system.

The list of supported vehicles now includes the 2017 Forte, 2015-2016 Optima and Optima Hybrid, 2015-2016 Sedona, 2014-2016 Soul, 2015-2016 Soul EV, 2016 Sorento and 2017 Sportage.

"Providing CarPlay and Android Auto to a greater number of vehicles in our lineup will revitalize our current owners' systems with an additional element of convenience while maximizing the benefits of connectivity," said KMA connected & mobility services director Henry Bzeih.

The platforms allow drivers to take advantage of deeper smartphone integration, including Apple and Google's respective navigation utilities, voice actions, entertainment apps and other features.

Customers will be notified of the software update by the end of July. All owners must register at Myuvo.com to receive such email notifications.
