Lexus to offer 10th Anniversary editions of GS F and RC F
These extremely low production variants will be offered in Japan only.
Lexus is introducing two commemorative editions of its GS F and RC F performance cars to mark a decade of the F brand.
While both come with some special parts under the skin, the easiest way to distinguish a 10th Anniversary Edition GS F and RC F will be its exclusive Matte Mercury Gray Mica paint and black 19-inch BBS 10-spoke forged aluminum wheels. This might seem like an odd color combo, since the trademark color of the F cars has always been a bright metallic blue.
Blue does make an appearance, but it's more subtle. It can be found on exclusive painted brake calipers and throughout the cabin. Inside, the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and shift knob are all lined with blue leather. The front seats are upholstered in the same, with white accents. Seat belts and door panel stitching, and carbon trim are all finished in blue as well.
Look closer and you'll find a CFRP rear diffuser ensconcing a special titanium exhaust that promises a 15-pound weight savings and sharper exhaust note. Both cars are fitted with front performance dampers for better handling as well. Both make do with the existing 471-horsepower naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8.
The F performance brand was established in 2007 with the IS F. You might think that makes this the eleventh anniversary, but the IS F was not debuted until October 4, 2017 for the 2018 model year in Japan, and these special edition cars will only be offered there. They will be hard to get, too, as only 35 10th Anniversary RC F sport coupes and just 25 10th Anniversary GS F sedans will be made. They go on sale in Japan in May.
