Mitsubishi auctioning off first of the last Evos
Serial No. 0001 of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition is up for grabs.
Mitsubishi is auctioning off the first of 1,600 planned units of its Lancer Evolution Final Edition. As its name implies, the Final Edition will be the last Lancer Evolution built by Mitsubishi.
Car No. 0001 is currently up for sale on auction site eBay. So far there have been no bites on the car's $37,201.05 starting bid. The auction is slated to end on November 21.
As a bonus to landing the first of the last Evos, Mitsubishi will donate 100 percent of the car's selling price to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
"Mitsubishi Motors has been involved with the National MS Society for more than 16 years, raising money through a variety of activities and event sponsorships," said Don Swearingen, executive vice president, MMNA. "It was only fitting that this year, to enhance our title sponsorship of the event, we donate something that means so much to the brand.”
Based on the Evo GSR model, the Final Edition boasts a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine belting out 303 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. That turbocharged powerplant is hooked to a five-speed manual transmission and Mitsubishi's rally-tested all-wheel drive system.
If you miss out on Evo FE No. 0001, you'll be able to pick up one of the other 1,599 for $37,995 while supplies last.
