NY LIVE: Nissan celebrates GT-R's 50th anniversary, introduces revised track pack by Drew Johnson
Both new GT-R models will launch later this year.
Nissan has unveiled a pair of special edition GT-R models at the 2019 New York International Auto Show. Both models will be launched for the 2020 model year.
2020 Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition
As its name implies, Nissan's first limited edition GT-R model to hit the NY stage is intended to celebrate the nameplates 50th anniversary. Cars optioned with the 50th anniversary package will include unique two-tone exterior paint.
The signature hue is Bayside Blue paired with white racing stripes. Customers can also choose from Pearl White with red stripes and Super Silver with white stripes.
Inside the Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition receives a unique but not bespoke gray color scheme. Nissan says certain trims of the normal 2020 GT-R will also be available with the 50th anniversary car's gray interior.
Powering the GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition is a twin-turbocharged 3.8L V6 developing 565 horsepower. Power is sent to all four wheels via a dual-clutch six-speed automatic.
2020 Nissan GT-R Track Edition
Nissan is also introducing a revised GT-R Track Edition at the New York show. The Track Edition model uses redesigned turbochargers to sharpen throttle response and increase power to an even 600 horsepower.
Optional equipment includes a carbon fiber roof and carbon ceramic Brembo disc brakes.
Nissan has not announced pricing for either 2020 GT-R model.
