Chicago preview: 2020 Subaru Legacyby Drew Johnson
The 2020 Legacy will boast a fancy new infotainment system.
Subaru has announced that it will unveil an all-new version of its Legacy mid-size sedan at next week's Chicago auto show.
Subaru is keeping the details of its new 2020 Legacy a secret until the start of the Chicago show, but the automaker did issue one teaser image of the mid-size sedan. That teaser shows a large, vertically oriented infotainment screen not unlike the units used by Tesla and Volvo. Heated and ventilated front seats are also on display.
The new Legacy will presumably move to Subaru's new global architecture, which underpins everything from the Impreza to the Ascent. Standard all-wheel drive and a boxer engine are a given.
Look for Subaru to followup its 2020 Legacy with an all-new version of its Outback, which is merely a higher-riding wagon variant of the Legacy. Both models should launch by the end of the year.
