Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 to get 1,200-hp Hennessey treatment
The Venom 1200 delivers 1,000 pound-feet of torque.
Hennessey has announced plans to offer three different tuning packages for the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
The most impressive Venom 1200 configuration will eclipse the stock GT500's 760 horsepower by a wide margin, promising 1,200 ponies and 1,000 pound-feet of torque -- entering the realm of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
The tuner has achieved the increase by adding a twin-turbo system and replacing the exhaust, pistons, rods, air induction system and fuel system components. The four-figure output also requires upgrades to the intercooler and transmission.
The company is also launching Venom 850 and 1000 packages for the GT500. Each comes with a one-year, 12,000-mile warranty and is test driven for up to 150 miles after the modifications are made.
